The story on this card

Pittsburgh closed out the 1971 World Series on October 17 at Memorial Stadium, and 1972 Topps #230 is the summary card for that Series. The Pirates trailed the Orioles two games to none, won the three games in Pittsburgh, lost Game 6 in ten innings, and took Game 7 by 2-1. Steve Blass pitched a four-hit complete game. Roberto Clemente homered off Mike Cuellar in the fourth, and Jose Pagan doubled home Willie Stargell in the eighth. Clemente hit .414 with 12 hits, safe in all seven games, and was named Series MVP. Game 4 had been the first World Series game played at night. The card was printed in the second series.
