Steve Luebber was a right-handed pitcher from Clinton, Missouri, who reached the majors with the Minnesota Twins in 1971 and made his final appearances with the Baltimore Orioles in 1981. The Twins drafted him in the 13th round in 1967, and he spent four and a half years in the minors before his debut. His major league totals were 6-10 with a 4.62 ERA in 66 games. His 1979 stay with the Toronto Blue Jays was a single September game against Boston in which he faced three batters and retired none; the Blue Jays released him the following spring and he signed with Baltimore. He kept pitching in the Rangers, Tigers and Padres organizations through 1983, returned to the Padres' farm system from 1986 to 1988, and in 1989 and 1990 pitched for the Fort Myers Sun Sox of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He retired at 40 after 22 professional seasons and moved into coaching with the Padres, Orioles, Rangers, Marlins and Royals organizations. In 2021 he became pitching coach of the Quad Cities River Bandits.
