1973 Topps #638 Ken Reynolds

About Ken Reynolds
Reynolds appeared in two games in 1973, one a start, and took a 7.36 ERA over 7 1/3 innings for the Milwaukee Brewers. His Topps card #638, a fifth-series high number, still prints him with the Minnesota Twins. He, Ken Sanders and Joe Lis had gone to Minnesota for Cesar Tovar on December 1, 1972, and the Twins sent him to Milwaukee for Mike Ferraro on March 28, 1973.
Ken Reynolds was a left-handed pitcher from Trevose, Pennsylvania, who reached the majors with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1970 and began as a starter before ending his career in relief. He attended Marlborough High School in Massachusetts and New Mexico Highlands University, and the Phillies chose him in the fourth round of the 1966 draft. He pitched in 103 major league games for the Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres and finished 7-29 with a 4.46 ERA, playing largely for losing teams. In the minors he went 117-89 with a 3.65 ERA in 282 games over 12 seasons. After retiring he was a minor league pitching coach in the Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs organizations, then returned to Marlborough High School to coach baseball and teach physical education.
