The story on this card

Game 2 of the 1973 World Series, played in Oakland, ran 12 innings and 4 hours 13 minutes, the longest game in Series history to that point, and the Mets won it 10-7. Willie Mays, 42, lost fly balls in the sun, and in the 12th he drove in Bud Harrelson with a single that was the last hit and RBI of his career. The inning also brought two errors by Oakland second baseman Mike Andrews, after which owner Charlie Finley had him sign an affidavit saying he was injured; Commissioner Bowie Kuhn reinstated him. Tug McGraw pitched six innings for the win. Topps put Mays on #473 in the 1974 set, part of the World Series subset (#472-479), in a New York Mets uniform.
