The story on this card

Reggie Jackson carried Game 6 of the 1973 World Series, played October 20 in Oakland, a 3-1 Athletics win that forced a seventh game. He doubled and drove in Joe Rudi in the first inning, then doubled in Sal Bando in the third. Catfish Hunter, pitching on short rest, outdueled Tom Seaver until the Mets knocked him out in the eighth on a Ken Boswell run-scoring single. Reliever Darold Knowles struck out Rusty Staub on three pitches with two men on, and Jackson later singled, took third on a Don Hahn error and scored on Jesus Alou's sacrifice fly. Rollie Fingers saved it. Jackson was named Series MVP after Game 7. Topps issued this Oakland Athletics card as #477 in the World Series subset (#472-479).
