1976 Topps #584 Stan Wall

About Stan Wall
Wall replaced Jim Brewer on the Dodgers' roster after Brewer went to the Angels in July 1975. In 23 appearances at Albuquerque earlier that year, he was 9-5 with a 2.38 ERA and made the Pacific Coast League All-Star team. His major league debut came on July 19, and he allowed three earned runs in 16 innings that season. His 1976 Topps rookie card, #584, identifies him with Los Angeles.
Stan Wall spent his three major league seasons, 1975 through 1977, in the Dodgers' bullpen. A left-hander from Butler, Missouri, he finished 4-6 with a 3.86 ERA in 66 appearances, all in relief. He struck out 55 batters in 98 innings and made his last appearance on July 3, 1977.
The Dodgers selected Wall in June 1969 and signed him through Monty Basgall. He had graduated from South High School in Raytown, Missouri, where he threw a no-hitter as a senior. He worked as both a starter and reliever in the minors; the Dodgers' 1976 media guide identified his fastball as his best pitch.
