Card #4 in the League Leaders subset covers the 1978 stolen base race in each league. LeFlore also scored 126 runs and hit .297 that season, while Moreno scored 95 and batted .235.
Ron LeFlore was a Detroit-born center fielder who learned the game in prison, joined the Tigers in 1974 and stole 455 bases in nine seasons. He was a 1976 All-Star, led both leagues in steals, and his story became a 1978 television movie. Omar Moreno, a Panamanian center fielder, led the Pirates' 1979 championship team from the leadoff spot and stole 487 bases in 12 seasons, including a club-record 96 in 1980.
