1986-87 Fleer #102 Jack Sikma

About Jack Sikma
A star out of tiny Illinois Wesleyan University, Jack Sikma was drafted 8th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1977 and played 14 NBA seasons as a center/forward - nine with Seattle (1977-1986) and five with the Milwaukee Bucks (1986-1991), the club he appears with on this card. He earned seven straight All-Star selections (1979-1985) and, as a rookie-year contributor turned anchor, helped Seattle win the 1979 NBA Championship over the Washington Bullets. Sikma is best remembered for the "Sikma Move," a signature inside reverse-pivot and step-back turnaround that produced a high, nearly unblockable release; he was also a superb free-throw shooter for a big man, once leading the league from the line. He retired averaging 15.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

About this card
The 1986-87 Fleer Jack Sikma is card #102 in Fleer's landmark 'Premier' issue - the first nationally-distributed NBA set since 1981-82 Topps and, for many collectors, the start of the modern era of basketball cards. Jack Sikma was already an established star by 1986; this is not his rookie card, but he is one of the names that make the set a who's-who of the era. He is pictured with the Milwaukee Bucks.
