About Sidney Moncrief
A 6'3" shooting guard out of the University of Arkansas, Sidney Moncrief was the 5th overall pick of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1979 NBA Draft and became the face of the franchise's dominant 1980s teams. Over an 11-season career (1979-1991) - ten years in Milwaukee plus a final season with the Atlanta Hawks - he made five straight All-Star teams (1982-1986) and earned five All-NBA selections, including First Team honors in 1982-83. Nicknamed "Sir Sid," Moncrief was celebrated most for his defense: he won the very first two NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards, in 1983 and 1984, and was a five-time All-Defensive pick. He averaged 15.6 points per game for his career and topped 20 a night in four seasons. The Bucks retired his No. 4, and he was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. This is not a rookie card - by 1986-87 Moncrief was an established veteran and one of the set's marquee Bucks.
