1986-87 Fleer #108 Reggie Theus

About Reggie Theus
A 6'7" combo guard out of UNLV, Reggie Theus was the 9th overall pick of the 1978 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls and earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 1979. Over 13 seasons (1978-1991) he played for the Bulls, Kansas City/Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic and New Jersey Nets, making two All-Star teams (1981 and 1983) as a Bull. A prolific scorer and playmaker, Theus finished with 19,015 career points (18.5 ppg) and 6,453 assists across 1,026 games. In Chicago he picked up the nickname "Rush Street Reggie," a nod to the apartment he kept on that street and his active nightlife in the city's club district. His card here shows him with the Kings, the franchise he later returned to coach in 2007 - a move he called coming "full circle." Off the court Theus acted, starring as Coach Bill Fuller on NBC's "Hang Time," and went on to a long college and pro coaching career.

About this card

Reggie Theus was already an established star by 1986; this is not his rookie card, but he is one of the names that make the set a who's-who of the era. He is pictured with the Sacramento Kings.
