About Hoyt Wilhelm
Born 1922 in Huntersville, NC (d. 2002), Hoyt Wilhelm was a right-handed pitcher who debuted in 1952 and played 21 major-league seasons. He went 143-122 with a 2.52 ERA and 1,610 strikeouts across 1,070 appearances. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
