About Richie Ashburn

Born 1927 in Tilden, NE (d. 1997), Richie Ashburn was a left-handed outfielder who debuted in 1948 and played 15 major-league seasons. He batted .308 with 2,574 hits, 29 home runs, 586 RBI, and 234 stolen bases over 2,189 games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
