About Bob Roselli
Robert Edward Roselli, a right-handed catcher born December 10, 1931, in San Francisco, entered pro ball in the Braves' organization and caught in the minor leagues from 1950 through 1953 before U.S. Army service in the Korean War cost him the 1954 season and much of 1955. He debuted for the Milwaukee Braves on August 16, 1955, and served three seasons (1955-56, 1958) as a backup to All-Star Del Crandall before resurfacing with the Chicago White Sox in 1961-62 behind Sherm Lollar. Over a five-season, 68-game major-league career he was a .219 hitter (25-for-114) with 7 doubles, 2 home runs and 10 RBI, his best year coming in 1961 when he batted .263 in 22 games for the White Sox. After baseball he scouted for the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds and coached youth ball; he died November 6, 2009, in Roseville, California. Card #131 is Roselli's rookie card and exists with both the scarcer white and the more common gray back stock found on 1956 Topps second-series cards.

Every card #1-180 exists with the reverse printed on white/cream card stock OR on gray card stock. Cards #181-340 are gray-back only.
