1958 Topps #475 All-Star Managers - Casey Stengel / Fred Haney
'All-Star Managers' - Casey Stengel (Yankees, HOF) and Fred Haney (Braves), the card that opens the first-ever Sport Magazine All-Star subset (#475-495).
Part of the Sport Magazine All-Star Selection subset (#475-495) — the first time Topps printed separate All-Star cards, closing the 1958 set with a Hall of Fame-dense 21-card run.
One of the nine multi-player combination cards in the 1958 set — the format Topps had introduced a year earlier with the 1957 Dodgers' Sluggers and Yankees' Power Hitters.

About this card
Card #475 opens the 1958 set's Sport Magazine All-Star Selection subset (cards 475-495) - the first such All-Star subset Topps ever produced. It features the two reigning pennant-winning managers: Casey Stengel of the New York Yankees and Fred Haney of the Milwaukee Braves. The pair had just met in the 1957 World Series, won by Haney's Braves, and would face off again in 1958, won by Stengel's Yankees; as the prior year's league champions, they also managed the 1958 All-Star Game. Stengel, already a multiple-time champion with the Yankees, is a Hall of Famer. The card's checklist-style back and subset placement make it a landmark within the 1958 issue.
