The story on this card

Card #589, a high number in Topps' seventh series, another Rookie Stars issue shared with Moe Ogier. Entering camp as the presumptive everyday third baseman, Clark started on Opening Day and set career highs across the board for Minnesota, playing a career-high 104 games with 52 at third base and 43 at shortstop. A tough Fort Worth infielder who split a seven-year career between Minnesota, Seattle, Oakland, Milwaukee and Philadelphia before a long run as a coach and scout.

Ogier made the Minnesota Twins' Opening Day roster in 1968 but was optioned out to the minors in late April before appearing in a game, with an ailing shoulder a factor. Topps paired him with fellow Twins farmhand Ron Clark on a Rookie Stars card, #589 in the print series 7 high-number run that closed out the set. The card is Moe Ogier's rookie card; Ron Clark had already appeared on 1967 Topps #137. Right-handed minor league pitcher signed by the Twins in 1965; made the 1968 Opening Day roster but never appeared in a game, sidelined by a shoulder injury.
