The story on this card
Card 166 is part of the 1969 Topps World Series subset, print series 2, recapping Game 5 of the 1968 Fall Classic between the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals, with Al Kaline pictured on the front. Down three games to one in the series and trailing 3-2 in the game, the Tigers rallied in the seventh inning when reliever Joe Hoerner loaded the bases and Kaline delivered a two-run single that put Detroit ahead for good, 4-3; Norm Cash added an insurance run with a single of his own. The comeback followed Mickey Lolich settling down after an early two-run homer he allowed to Orlando Cepeda, and the Tigers went on to win the series in seven games for their first championship since 1945.
