Floyd Euliss Wicker was an outfielder born September 12, 1943, in Burlington, North Carolina. He attended Walter M. Williams High School and East Carolina University, batted left-handed and threw right-handed, and stood 6 feet 2 inches. Wicker signed with the St. Louis Cardinals at age 17, and his professional career ran from 1961 to 1971, interrupted by two seasons of military service. He reached the majors in 1968 with St. Louis, then moved through the Montreal Expos, Milwaukee Brewers, and San Francisco Giants, closing out his career after a June 1, 1971 trade from Milwaukee to San Francisco for Bob Heise. His longest big-league stretch came in the Expos' inaugural 1969 season, when he served almost exclusively as a pinch hitter. His only major league home run came off Chicago White Sox starter Floyd Weaver on September 26, 1970, helping the Brewers to a 9-5 win. Over four seasons he batted .159 with 18 hits in 113 at-bats.
