The story on this card

The second basemen of the 1974 Topps All-Stars subset (#331-339) share card #333: Rod Carew of the Minnesota Twins for the American League and Joe Morgan of the Cincinnati Reds for the National League. Carew's 1974 season was his best to that point. His average was never below .300 from his first at-bat on April 5, he was at .400 through June 27, and he finished at .364 for his fourth batting title. In 1974 Morgan won a Gold Glove and led the National League in on-base percentage as the Reds finished second to the Dodgers.

Rod Carew batted .328 over 19 seasons with the Twins and Angels. The second baseman and first baseman won seven American League batting titles, made 18 All-Star teams and entered the Hall of Fame in 1991. Joe Morgan combined 268 home runs with 689 stolen bases over 22 major-league seasons. Cincinnati's second baseman won consecutive National League MVP awards, five Gold Gloves and election to the Hall of Fame in 1990.
