About Chris Arnold

Arnold's busiest season came in 1974, when he played in 78 games and made 192 plate appearances, 31 of the games at second base. His only home run of the year, a two-run shot off Steve Carlton in the third inning on May 1, helped beat the Phillies 13-8. He finished at .241 with 26 RBIs. Card #432 is printed with the Giants.

Chris Arnold was a right-handed utility infielder for the San Francisco Giants from 1971 to 1976, playing mostly second and third base with a few games at catcher, shortstop, outfield and first. The Giants drafted him in the 11th round in 1965 out of Arcadia High School in California, and he was used most often as a pinch hitter. In 273 big-league games he hit .237 with four home runs and 51 RBIs. After leaving the majors he played three seasons for the Kintetsu Buffaloes in Japan, batting .274 with 43 home runs and 174 RBIs. He has since run a sports agency, Professional Sports International, from his home in Denver.
