1979 Topps #275 Junior Moore

About Junior Moore
Moore's #275 pictures him with Chicago ahead of his one full big-league season with the club. He appeared in 88 games in 1979, 61 of them in the outfield. He hit .264 in 201 at-bats with 53 hits. He drove in 23 runs, scored 24 and hit one home run.
Junior Moore was a right-handed infielder and outfielder who played 289 major league games for the Atlanta Braves in 1976 and 1977 and the Chicago White Sox from 1978 to 1980. Alvin Earl Moore graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Richmond, California, and the Braves drafted him in the eleventh round in 1971. After nearly six minor league seasons he was recalled from Triple-A Richmond and debuted on August 2, 1976, starting at third base against the Padres. His largest workload came in 1977, when he played 112 games and started 92 at third base. He hit .260 with five home runs. Atlanta released him that fall and the White Sox signed him as a free agent. In 1980, his last season in the majors, he again moved between Chicago and its Triple-A club. He finished with 204 hits and seven home runs, then spent his last five professional seasons in the Mexican League, retiring in 1985.
