1986-87 Fleer #19 Pat Cummings
Borderline rookie: Pat Cummings debuted 1979-80 but has no Topps card; widely listed as a 1986 Fleer rookie.

About Pat Cummings
A 6'9" power forward/center out of the University of Cincinnati - where he was named 1979 Metro Conference Player of the Year - Pat Cummings was a third-round pick (59th overall) of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1978 NBA Draft and debuted in 1979-80. Over 12 NBA seasons and 683 games he played for five teams: the Bucks (1979-82), Dallas Mavericks (1982-84), New York Knicks (1984-88), Miami Heat (1988-90) and Utah Jazz (1990-91). A reliable interior scorer and rebounder, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds for his career and enjoyed his most productive stretch with the Mavericks and Knicks, topping 12 points and eight rebounds for four straight seasons; he was never named an All-Star. Cummings started Miami's first-ever game and helped the expansion Heat to their first franchise win. This is treated as his rookie card - he had debuted years earlier but was never given a Topps card, so the hobby recognizes his 1986-87 Fleer as his RC. Cummings died of a heart attack in 2012 at age 55.
