About this card

This combination card unites Los Angeles Dodgers manager Walt Alston with slugging center fielder Duke Snider. Alston had guided the franchise to its first and only World Series title in Brooklyn in 1955, and he remained the steady hand as the club opened its inaugural Los Angeles season in 1958. Snider - the 'Duke of Flatbush' - was the power core of Brooklyn's great 1950s teams, having hit 40 or more home runs in five consecutive seasons from 1953 to 1957, and he brought his bat west with the relocated Dodgers. Both are Hall of Famers. The card celebrates the pairing of the Dodgers' respected skipper and their premier slugger as the franchise began its California era.
