About this card
This is one of the fifty-seven two-player Rookie Stars cards in the 1964 Topps set: fifty-three pair two prospects from one club, and the four league cards (#548, #564, #568 and #572) pair prospects from two clubs. Every one of them is a rookie card for at least one of its two players.
The story on this card
Bloomfield reached the Twins after Minnesota drafted him from St. Louis that offseason, spending most of 1964 with the Triple-A Atlanta Crackers before a short call-up in which he started back-to-back games at second base in early May, picking up his only career hit in the first of them. This high number from the set's seventh and final print series pairs him with fellow rookie Joe Nossek on a shared Minnesota Twins Rookie Stars card, a recognized rookie card for both players. The photo identified as Bloomfield on this card is the same portrait used for Jay Ward on card 116 elsewhere in the set, a printing mix-up rather than a shared identity between the two players. A backup infielder from Oklahoma City who logged two brief big-league trials with the 1963 Cardinals and 1964 Twins after years in the high minors.
Nossek made his major-league debut for Minnesota on April 18, 1964, appearing in seven games that spring before Minnesota returned him to Triple-A Atlanta. Topps marked him a Twins prospect on this high-number Rookie Stars card, part of the set's seventh and final print series, shared with infielder Bud Bloomfield. A defense-first Twins and A's outfielder of the mid-1960s who started in center for most of Minnesota's 1965 World Series before a long career as a coach.

Frequently asked questions
What is the 1964 Topps #532 card?
It is the Twins Rookie Stars card of Bud Bloomfield and Joe Nossek, #532 in the 587-card 1964 Topps Baseball set - but the photograph labelled Bloomfield shows Jay Ward, the same photo Topps used on #116.
Is 1964 Topps #532 a rookie card?
Yes - #532 is the rookie card of both players named on it, Bud Bloomfield and Joe Nossek, although the photograph labelled Bloomfield shows Jay Ward.
Is Jay Ward pictured anywhere else in the set?
Yes - by mistake. The Bud Bloomfield photo on #532 Twins Rookie Stars is Jay Ward, the same picture used for Ward on #116; it is an uncorrected error on #532, not a second Ward card.
Does 1964 Topps #532 have an error?
The photo of Bloomfield is actually Jay Ward - the same face as on #116. It was never corrected, so there is no variation to chase - every copy of #532 reads the same way.
Is 1964 Topps #532 a scarce card?
It is a high number card from the seventh print series, #523-587, distributed last. Scarcer than the rest of the set but only mildly so - the high premium runs roughly 55-60 percent, far milder than the 1952-62 highs.
