The story on this card

Card 133 sits in the World Series subset within the 1965 Topps set's second series. It recaps Game 2 of the 1964 Fall Classic between the Yankees and Cardinals. The front pictures Stottlemyre, the rookie right-hander who had been called up from the minors that August and started Game 2 for New York. He pitched a strong game while the Cardinal bullpen wilted late; the Yankees broke it open in the ninth when Phil Linz led off with a home run, Mickey Mantle followed with an RBI double, Joe Pepitone added an RBI single, and Tom Tresh drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. New York won the game 8-3, evening the series at one game apiece, the result this card commemorates.
