The story on this card

This card in the World Series subset recalls Game 1 of the 1964 Series, played at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals struck first when Ken Boyer's sacrifice fly drove in a run, but Whitey Ford and the Yankees answered to take a 3-1 lead. St. Louis clawed back with a Mike Shannon single that set up a run, then broke the game open in the sixth: Shannon, looking for a slider, drove one into the seats to tie the score, and a string of two-out hits put the Cardinals up 6-4 en route to a 9-5 win. The front pictures Mike Shannon of the Cardinals, who scored and homered in the game shown. Card number 132 belongs to the World Series subset in the set's second print series.
