The story on this card
Card 135, from the second series, is part of the 1965 Topps World Series subset and recaps Game 4 of the 1964 Fall Classic between the Cardinals and Yankees. New York had built a 3-0 lead behind Al Downing before St. Louis rallied in the sixth inning: pinch-hitter Carl Warwick and Curt Flood each singled, and after a flyout Dick Groat reached on a fielding error, loading the bases with one out. Ken Boyer, the Cardinals third baseman pictured on the card, then drove them all in with a grand slam off Downing. The blow carried St. Louis to a 4-3 win, squared the Series at two games apiece, and guaranteed a return to St. Louis, where the Cardinals went on to beat the Yankees in seven games. Boyer's brother Clete played third for the Yankees in the same Series, making it a rare on-field sibling matchup at that position.
