The story on this card
Game 2 of the 1969 American League Championship Series, played October 5 at Memorial Stadium, was decided by one run in the 11th inning. Dave McNally, who had won 15 games in a row during the season, faced Minnesota's Dave Boswell, and both held the other side scoreless into extra innings. Boog Powell reached second, and Curt Motton's pinch-hit single in the bottom of the 11th scored him with the only run of the game. McNally threw an 11-inning complete-game shutout, the longest in MLB postseason history, striking out 11 and allowing three hits, none after the fourth inning. Boswell took the loss after 10 2/3 innings. He allowed seven hits and seven walks and struck out four. The Orioles went to Minnesota up 2-0. Topps printed the game as #200 in the 1970 Playoffs subset (#195-202), in the second series.
