The story on this card
Baltimore closed out the 1969 American League Championship Series on October 6 at Metropolitan Stadium with an 11-2 win over Minnesota, a sweep. Rich Reese's RBI single gave the Twins a first-inning lead off Jim Palmer, but Elrod Hendricks's two-run double put the Orioles ahead in the second, and Don Buford's RBI single made it 3-1 and ended Bob Miller's day after 1 2/3 innings. Paul Blair drove in two with a double in the fourth and two more with a home run in the eighth, then added another two-out double in the ninth. Frank Robinson had an RBI single in the sixth. Palmer pitched a scoreless ninth to finish. The pennant sent Baltimore to the World Series against the Mets. Topps issued the game as #201 in the 1970 Playoffs subset (#195-202), in the second series.
