About Andy Kosco

Andy Kosco lost his outfield job to Willie Crawford in 1970 and batted .228 with 8 home runs and 27 RBIs in 74 games for the Dodgers. In February 1971 Los Angeles sent him to Milwaukee for Al Downing, and he played 98 games for the Brewers that year. His #746 card, in the sixth series, pictures him with Milwaukee.

Andy Kosco was an outfielder and first baseman out of Youngstown, Ohio, signed by Detroit in 1959 for a $62,500 bonus after a huge senior season at Struthers High School. Released by the Tigers in 1964, he caught on with the Minnesota Twins, tore up Triple-A Denver, and debuted in the majors in August 1965 during Minnesota's pennant run. Over a ten-year career he played for the Twins, Yankees, Dodgers, Brewers, Angels, Red Sox and Reds. After retiring he finished a bachelor's degree at Youngstown State and went into the insurance business, later running the agency with his sons.
