The story on this card

Both 1975 league championship series ended in sweeps, and #461 in the 1976 Topps Postseason subset covers them together, with Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Don Gullett and Luis Tiant pictured. Cincinnati beat Pittsburgh in three games. In Game 1 Gullett threw a complete game, drove in a run with a single and hit a home run in an 8-3 win, and Perez knocked in a run. Perez homered in the first inning of Game 2 off Jim Rooker, and the Reds won 6-1. Game 3 went ten innings; Pete Rose's eighth-inning homer put Cincinnati ahead, and the Reds scored twice in the tenth for a 5-3 win. In the American League, Boston swept Oakland. Tiant pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing one run on three hits with eight strikeouts in a 7-1 win. The Red Sox clinched 5-3 in Game 3 and took their first pennant in eight years. #462 in the subset covers the World Series.
