Odbert Herman Hamric was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, in 1928. He was an outfielder who played professionally from 1949 to 1961, nearly all of it in the minor leagues. He batted left-handed, threw right-handed, and stood 6 feet tall at 165 pounds. His time in the majors amounted to ten games, all as a pinch hitter: two with the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers, beginning with his debut on April 24, 1955, and eight with the 1958 Baltimore Orioles, ending with his final game on May 26, 1958. He collected one hit in nine at-bats for a career mark of .111. Hamric died in Springboro, Ohio, in 1984 at the age of 56.
