About this card

The story on this card

Card #154 from the World Series subset spotlights Game 4 of the 1967 Fall Classic at Busch Memorial Stadium, where Bob Gibson blanked Boston 6-0 on five hits to put St. Louis ahead three games to one. Lou Brock opened the game with an infield single and scored moments later on a two-run double by Roger Maris, with the Cardinals plating four runs in the first inning off Jose Santiago; Tim McCarver and Dal Maxvill each added a run-scoring single. Gibson cruised from there as the Cardinals added two more runs in the third: an Orlando Cepeda double set up a McCarver sacrifice fly, and a Julian Javier double later scored Mike Shannon. The card belongs to Topps' second series and represents the Cardinals within that year's World Series set.
