The story on this card

Hank Aaron ended 1973 with 713 home runs, one short of Babe Ruth, and Topps opened its 1974 set with six cards built around the chase. Card #5, titled Hank Aaron Special: 1966-1969, covers the Atlanta years that began when the Braves moved south in 1966. Cards #2-6 of the tribute show his earlier Topps cards on their fronts. Aaron hit 44 home runs in 1966 and 39 in 1967. In 1968 he hit 29, among them career number 500 on July 14 off Mike McCormick of the Giants. In 1969 he hit 44, and number 537 on July 31 passed Mickey Mantle. That season ended with three home runs in the NLCS against the Mets.

Hank Aaron spent 23 major-league seasons with the Braves and Brewers. The right fielder passed Babe Ruth's career home run record in 1974 and finished with 755 home runs and 3,771 hits.
