The story on this card

Topps printed Anderson on #487, a four-player Rookie Prospects card, with the Toronto Blue Jays, who had selected him from Milwaukee in the expansion draft on November 5, 1976. Toronto traded him to the Chicago White Sox on January 5, 1977. He pitched in relief for Chicago that season, striking out 7 batters in 8 2/3 innings. The card also shows Ed Glynn of the Detroit Tigers, Joe Henderson of the Cincinnati Reds and Greg Terlecky of the Chicago White Sox, each on his rookie card. Larry Anderson, a right-handed pitcher out of Pico Rivera, California, was a second-round pick of the Brewers in 1971. He appeared in 16 games for Milwaukee and Chicago from 1974 to 1977, going 2-3 with a 5.66 ERA.

Glynn shared #487, a Rookie Prospects card, with Larry Anderson, Joe Henderson and Greg Terlecky, and it is his rookie card; he is printed with the Tigers, Anderson with the Blue Jays and Henderson with the Reds. Anderson had shut out Detroit in Glynn's first big-league start in 1975. In 1976 Glynn went 1-3 with a 6.08 ERA for the Tigers. Four of his five games that year were starts, and in 1977 he pitched eight games for them. Left-handed reliever who pitched 175 games for the Tigers, Mets, Indians and Expos from 1975 to 1985. A Flushing, Queens native who once sold hot dogs at Shea Stadium, he finished 12-17 with a 4.25 ERA and 12 saves.

Four relief appearances for Cincinnati in 1976 brought Henderson 2 wins and 11 innings without an earned run. His rookie card was 1977 Topps #487 in the Rookie Prospects subset. He represented the Reds alongside Toronto's Larry Anderson, Detroit's Ed Glynn and the White Sox's Greg Terlecky. Joe Henderson was an infielder converted to pitching who appeared with the White Sox and Reds. He threw a no-hitter for Triple-A Iowa in 1974 and finished with 16 major-league appearances.

At Triple-A Iowa in 1976, Terlecky went 10-6 and threw an 83-pitch two-hitter against Omaha on May 30. His 1977 Topps rookie card, #487, identified him with the White Sox alongside Larry Anderson (Toronto), Ed Glynn (Detroit) and Joe Henderson (Cincinnati). In 1977 he pitched for Iowa and, on loan, Columbus, compiling an 8-6 record. A Covina High School pitcher, Terlecky threw a no-hitter against Canada in the 1968 Colt World Series. Two years later he helped West Covina win the American Legion Baseball World Series.
