The story on this card

Haydel's 1971 season brought 31 games, a 4-2 record and a 4.28 ERA. His Topps card is #692, a Rookie Stars card in the sixth series shared with Rogelio Moret of the Boston Red Sox and Wayne Twitchell of the Milwaukee Brewers. It is the rookie card of all three men. Hal Haydel, a right-hander born in Houma, Louisiana, in 1944, pitched only in relief for Minnesota in 1970 and 1971 after the Twins took him in the Rule 5 draft.

Moret is the middle name on a three-player Rookie Stars card, #692 from the sixth series, with Hal Haydel (Twins) and Wayne Twitchell (Brewers). His club is the Red Sox, and all three men have their rookie cards here. His September 1970 call-up began with a debut on September 13, a perfect eighth inning in a 13-2 loss at Baltimore. His first win came on his 21st birthday against the Yankees, with four shutout innings in relief of Sonny Siebert. He finished 1-0 with a 3.24 ERA in three games. Roger Moret was a Puerto Rican left-hander who pitched for Boston, Atlanta and Texas from 1970 to 1978. He led the American League in winning percentage in 1975 and finished 47-27 with a 3.66 ERA.

Twitchell's card is printed with Milwaukee, the club that gave him his debut on September 7, 1970, when he struck out the side against Minnesota, Harmon Killebrew included. In spring training 1971 he was traded to the Phillies for outfielder Pat Skrable, spent the summer at Eugene, and won his first big-league game on September 23 in relief at Montreal. Card #692 is a Rookie Stars card with Hal Haydel of the Twins and Rogelio Moret of the Red Sox, a rookie card for all three, from the sixth series. Wayne Twitchell, a 6-foot-6 right-hander drafted third overall in 1966, pitched for five clubs from 1970 to 1979. His 1973 season with the Phillies produced a 2.50 ERA and an All-Star selection before a knee injury ended it.
