The story on this card
Bobby Tolan had a three-hit day in Game 2 of the 1970 National League Championship Series, a 3-1 Cincinnati win at Three Rivers Stadium on October 4. 1971 Topps #200 is his Playoffs subset card in the second series. He singled in the third off Pirates starter Luke Walker, stole second, took third when Manny Sanguillen's throw went into center field, and scored on a Walker wild pitch. In the fifth he hit a home run over the wall in right-center, and in the eighth he singled off reliever Dave Giusti. Lefty Jim Merritt, Cincinnati's lone 20-game winner, started and went 5 1/3 innings, and Don Gullett struck out the side in the seventh and pitched 3 1/3 hitless innings for the save.
