1954-55 Topps #43 Jack McIntyre
Uncorrected error: First name appears as "Jake" on the front - never corrected.

About Jack McIntyre
Topps printed his first name as "Jake" on the front of this card — never corrected — but the player is Jack McIntyre, a hard-shooting left wing from Brussels, Ontario. A product of the junior St. Catharines Teepees, he broke in with Boston in 1949-50 and made his name in the 1953 playoffs, scoring four goals in ten games — including a key strike in the Bruins' semifinal upset of Detroit that sent them to the Stanley Cup Final against Montreal. Traded to Chicago in the summer of 1953, he gave the Black Hawks five seasons, netting 16 goals in 1954-55 and a career-best 18 in 1956-57. Dealt to Detroit a week before Christmas 1957, he and Lorne Ferguson, headed the other way, famously just swapped house keys so both families would be home for the holidays. McIntyre finished with 109 goals in 499 NHL games across ten seasons, 1950-1960. Not a rookie card — just a classic Original Six issue with one of the set's best-known name gaffes.
