The story on this card

Game 1 of the 1970 World Series opened the first Series games played on artificial turf, at Cincinnati's new Riverfront Stadium. The Reds took a 3-0 lead on Jim Palmer, with a Johnny Bench RBI single in the first and a Lee May two-run homer in the third. Boog Powell, the 1970 A.L. MVP, answered with a two-run homer off Gary Nolan in the fourth, and Elrod Hendricks tied the game with a fifth-inning homer. The game turned in the sixth, when umpire Ken Burkhart called Bernie Carbo out at the plate on a Ty Cline chopper. Brooks Robinson's seventh-inning homer put Baltimore ahead for the first time, and Pete Richert closed out the 4-3 win after Palmer walked Pete Rose in the ninth. Card #327 belongs to the World Series subset, carries the Baltimore Orioles and was issued in the third series.
