The story on this card
In Game 3 of the 1970 World Series, Brooks Robinson leapt for Tony Perez's hopper, stepped on third and threw to first for a double play. He also threw out Tommy Helms on a slow grounder and made a diving catch of a Johnny Bench line drive. In Game 5, October 15 at Memorial Stadium, Mike Cuellar allowed no runs and two hits over the last eight innings of the 9-3 win that clinched the Series, after Cincinnati scored three in the first. Robinson hit .429, set a five-game record with 17 total bases, tied the one-game record with four hits and won the Series MVP award and a car. Bench said the Reds would have chipped in to buy him one. This is 1971 Topps #331, the Orioles card of the World Series subset, printed in the third series.
