1954-55 Topps #2 Bob Chrystal
Rookie-year card - no 1951-54 Parkhurst issue; he also appears in the same season's 1954-55 Parkhurst set (#69).

About Bob Chrystal
A Winnipeg-born defenseman, Bob Chrystal came up through the Brandon Wheat Kings, reaching the 1949 Memorial Cup final — the only eight-game final ever played — before turning pro with the Denver Falcons and Cleveland Barons, where his overtime winner clinched the 1953 Calder Cup. That earned him the call to Broadway: two full seasons on the New York Rangers blue line, 1953-54 and 1954-55, good for 132 NHL games, 11 goals, and 25 points. Back in the WHL he captained Brandon's 1957 champion Regals and twice made the Prairie Division First All-Star Team (1957, 1958), playing on through 1959-60 with the Winnipeg Warriors. A Manitoba Hockey Hall of Famer (1995), he told his story in the 2018 autobiography Block That Shot. Card #2 in 1954-55 Topps is his rookie card — Parkhurst never issued him from 1951 to 1954, though he does appear in the same season's 1954-55 Parkhurst set (#69).
