About Danny Lewicki

Danny Lewicki came to Broadway with a resume no player has matched: the Fort William, Ontario left wing is the only man to win the Memorial Cup (1948, Port Arthur West End Bruins), Allan Cup (1950, Toronto Marlboros), and Stanley Cup (1951, Maple Leafs) while still junior-aged. Even his signing made history -- the 'C' Form that bound him to Toronto stirred debate in Canada's Parliament and was later abolished. Sold to the Rangers in 1954, Lewicki delivered his finest season just as this card reached shelves: 29 goals and 53 points in 1954-55, earning a Second Team All-Star berth and a runner-up finish in Lady Byng voting. He wrapped up with Chicago in 1958-59, finishing with 105 goals and 240 points in 461 NHL games. This isn't his rookie card -- he broke in with Toronto in 1950-51 and placed third in Calder voting -- but it catches Lewicki at the very top of his game.
