About this card
This is one of the eleven combo cards scattered through the 1960 Topps set, each pairing two or three players under a nickname headline rather than giving one man his own card.
The players on this card
"Cincy Clouters" pairs three of Cincinnati's top run producers from the late 1950s: Gus Bell, Frank Robinson, and Jerry Lynch, saluting the power bats behind the Reds' 1959 offense. Bell, an outfielder since coming over from Pittsburgh in 1953, bounced back from a down 1958 to hit .293 with a career-high 115 RBI in 1959. Robinson, the reigning face of the franchise since his 1956 NL Rookie of the Year season, was coming off a monster 1959 (.311, 36 HR, 125 RBI, All-Star) and would go on to win two MVP awards, a Triple Crown, and enter the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. Lynch, a left-handed-hitting outfielder, ranked fourth on the club in homers in 1959 with 17 and later built a reputation as one of the National League's most dangerous pinch hitters.
