The story on this card
Reynolds spent 1970 split between two organizations: 0-2 with a 6.60 ERA for the Cubs, then 7-3 with a 2.62 ERA for Hawaii in the Pacific Coast League after the deal to California. His 1971 Topps card, #664 from the sixth series, is a Rookie Stars card that puts him with the Angels beside Bob Reynolds of the Expos and Ken Reynolds of the Phillies. It is the rookie card of all three. Archie Reynolds was a right-handed pitcher who made 36 appearances for the Cubs, Angels and Brewers between 1968 and 1972, going 0-8 with a 5.73 ERA. A 1966 38th-round Cubs draftee from East Texas, he won 13 games at San Antonio in 1968.
Reynolds split 1971 between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers, going 0-1 with a 6.92 ERA over 7 games and 13 innings. Topps put him on Rookie Stars card #664, printed with the Montreal Expos, which he shares with Archie Reynolds (printed with the California Angels) and Ken Reynolds (printed with the Philadelphia Phillies). Bob Reynolds, a right-handed reliever nicknamed Bullet, pitched in the majors from 1969 to 1975 and had his best seasons with the Baltimore Orioles in 1973 and 1974.
Reynolds went 5-9 with a 4.49 ERA for Philadelphia in 1971. He made 25 starts in 35 games and completed two of them, one a shutout. Topps listed him on Rookie Stars card #664 in the sixth series, printed with the Phillies beside Archie Reynolds (printed with the California Angels) and Bob Reynolds (printed with the Montreal Expos). All three are rookie cards. Ken Reynolds, a left-hander from Trevose, Pennsylvania, pitched in the majors from 1970 to 1976, mostly for the Phillies, starting early in his career and relieving late.
