About Terry Harmon

Terry Walter Harmon, a right-handed-hitting infielder from Toledo, Ohio, was Philadelphia's fifth-round pick out of Ohio University in the 1965 draft, taken 85th overall. He debuted with the Phillies on July 23, 1967, returned for good in 1969, and spent his entire ten-year career (1967, 1969-77) with Philadelphia as a reserve at second base, shortstop, and third base. A glove-first utilityman, he hit .233 with 262 hits, 31 doubles, 4 home runs, 72 RBI, and 17 stolen bases over 547 games. Harmon's steady bench work helped the Phillies capture back-to-back National League East titles in 1976 and 1977. Card #399 in the 1975 Topps set catches him mid-career with that club, a year in which he appeared in 48 games. After his playing days ended, Harmon stayed in Philadelphia sports media, working for the Phillies' PRISM cable network before moving into home shopping television.
