The players on this card
Card #455 is one of the 1960 set's sixteen team-coaches cards, pairing three Paul Richards lieutenants on Baltimore's staff. Eddie Robinson, a four-time All-Star first baseman who played for seven of the American League's eight teams during a 13-year career and won a championship with the 1948 Indians, closed out his playing days with the Orioles in 1957 and stayed on as Richards' coach and scout. Harry "the Cat" Brecheen, a two-time All-Star left-hander who went 20-7 with a league-best 2.24 ERA for the 1948 Cardinals, served as Baltimore's pitching coach from 1954 to 1967, guiding a staff that ranked among the league's ERA leaders for a decade and developing future stars Jim Palmer, Dave McNally and Milt Pappas. Lum Harris, a right-hander who pitched for the Athletics and Senators through 1947, coached third base for Richards from 1955 and would take over as the Orioles' interim manager late in the 1961 season.
