1975 Topps #142 Bob Reynolds

About Bob Reynolds
Robert Allen Reynolds broke into pro ball as a San Francisco Giants first-round pick in 1966 out of Seattle's Ingraham High School and reached the majors with the 1969 Montreal Expos. After brief stops in St. Louis and Milwaukee, the hard-throwing right-hander found a home in Baltimore's bullpen from 1972 to 1975. His heater, which he could reportedly bring in at over 100 mph, earned him the nickname "Bullet." Reynolds had his finest season in 1973, going 7-5 with a 1.95 ERA, nine saves and a career-high 77 strikeouts in 111 innings, then matched that win total in 1974 while working a career-high 54 games. He appeared in both the 1973 and 1974 American League Championship Series with the Orioles. Dealt away in 1975, his final big-league season, Reynolds finished a six-year career with six major league clubs at 14-16, a 3.15 ERA and 21 saves, then closed out his playing days with Japan's Taiyo Whales in 1977. This 1975 Topps card shows him in an Orioles uniform.
