1960 Topps #426 Ron Jackson
Cards #375-440 were printed on two back stocks, white and gray. White is the scarcer of the two, and the difference is the tint of the cardboard on the reverse — it is a stock variation, not a design change, so both backs read identically.

About Ron Jackson
Ron Jackson, a 6-foot-7 first baseman out of Kalamazoo, Michigan, worked out for the White Sox in June 1954 and signed as a bonus baby, a rule that kept him on Chicago's roster instead of the minors. He homered in his third career at-bat, then spent parts of six seasons platooning at first, topping out at 61 games and seven homers in 1958, while crushing minor-league pitching -- 1957 American Association All-Star Game MVP, then the AA's 1959 leader in homers (30) and RBIs (99). That November, Chicago traded him to Boston for the Red Sox's own bonus baby, pitcher Frank Baumann, hoping his power would solve Fenway's short left field. A spring elbow injury held him to ten games before Boston dealt him to Milwaukee for Ray Boone that May. His card, number 426 in the 1960 Topps high-number series, is scarcer in its white-back printing than the common gray-back version. Jackson retired after 1961 and ran his family's Kalamazoo insurance agency until his death in 2008.

Graded population — a scarcity guide, not a price. Snapshot 2026-08-20. Half grades fold down for both graders (8.5→8); PSA qualified slabs (OC, ST, PD, MC and the like) are not counted. Neither grader separates the white and gray back stocks on this card, so the counts below cover both. The Venezuelan issue, the 1960 Topps Tattoos and Bazooka are separate products and are not counted here.
