1975 Topps #61 Dave Winfield
Dave Winfield's second-year card — in the set but NOT a rookie card (his RC is 1974).

About Dave Winfield
Dave Winfield went straight from the University of Minnesota to the majors, never spending a day in the minors. San Diego made him the fourth overall pick of the 1973 draft as a pitcher, then put his powerful bat and rifle arm to work in right field. His 1975 Topps card, #61, catches him in his second season - not his rookie card, which came in 1974 - but the tools that would carry a 22-year, six-team career were already on display: he was an All-Star every year from 1977 through 1988, won a Gold Glove, and led the NL with 118 RBI in 1979 while finishing third in MVP voting. Winfield stayed in San Diego through 1980, then signed with the Yankees as baseball's highest-paid player before finishing his career with Toronto, Minnesota, and Cleveland. He delivered the Series-winning hit for the Blue Jays in the 1992 World Series over Atlanta, retired with 3,110 hits, 465 home runs, and 12 All-Star selections, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001, his first year of eligibility.
