About Ken Frailing

Kenneth Douglas Frailing was born January 19, 1948, in Madison, Wisconsin, and signed with the Chicago White Sox as a fifth-round pick out of Marion High School in 1966. The left-hander spent seven seasons working through Chicago's farm system before debuting with the White Sox in September 1972. After a strong 1973 season with Triple-A Iowa, he was part of the December 1973 blockbuster that sent Ron Santo from the Cubs to the White Sox, bringing Frailing, Steve Stone, Steve Swisher, and Jim Kremmel to the North Side. Pictured on his 1975 Topps card in his second Cubs season, Frailing had made 55 appearances in 1974, throwing his only career complete game, a 12-4 win over San Francisco. A shoulder injury limited him to relief work in 1975, and tendon surgery in 1976 ended his career at 28. He finished 10-16 with a 3.96 ERA in 116 games.
